Eye Surgery..

Well we have to be at St. Joes at 6am on Wednesday morning. I am a little relieved since I dont have to hold Mikey off that long without a bottle. I am hoping we can just wake him dress him and toss him in the car. I just hope we dont have to wait for a long time at the hospital. Hes never happy when his belly is empty!

I will of course keep everyone posted!! Heres a before picture well its one of the bad ones.. he sometimes looks just fine as all of you know :-)

Finally fun Bath Times

Is thankful to Primo Eurobath for making a tub that Mikey can finally enjoy! We had such struggles finding a tub for him to be comfortable in. Because hes not sitting up yet most of the infant tubs were to small. The tub ring didnt work because he slouched to much. After major searching we found this much bigger infant - toddler tub that Mikey is loving. He was having so much fun splashing he didnt want to get out :-)

Jessie'e 4th Birthday

We had a great time at Jessies Party! Mikey enjoyed the swing and seeing Jessie. He would have loved the pool if it was a little warmer because he wanted to go in it and when I put his feet in he shivered lol. He also had a very small amount of ice cream cake. He love the flavor but the cold is to much for his teeth.

UUggghhh Blood Work again...

Mikey had to go back on June 26th for blood work. His white blood cells were a little high. Most likely from his measel shot the week before but we have to check to be safe.

Mikey was casted ...

Yesterday Mikey was casted for his leg braces. He was such a good boy I was so proud of him. Dr. D even put Kia-lan on the computer for him so sweet!! He has to go back on July 22 to get them. Im excited I think he will be able to do more standing and maybe even walking a little to! So exciting.

Blood work..

I am never ever doing that again.. Mikey has enough relatives that each one of them can take him if he ever needs blood work again.. my poor child was tearing before they even stuck him.. three of us holding him down he was screaming so loud I think we are all deaf and he moved toward the end of the second vial so guess what??? We had to do it all over again!!!

At least hes not mad at me :-) Hes been a happy boy since all that was over. We are going to attempt to go to St. Anthonys Feast tonight.. if we do.. I will post!!

Eye Surgery Here we come...

Mikey is scheduled for surgery June 30th! We are of course nervous but I am sure hes in great hands. Tomorrow Im taking him for his blood work and then he needs a release letter from the dr and we are all set to go!! I will keep you all posted!

Eye Surgery is coming....

We saw Dr Mickey tonight and he informed us that Mikey needs to have surgery on both eyes. We are a little nervous of course but they make it sound like such an easy thing. Its same day and he will just need some antobotic drops for a week or so. We should know the date soon we will keep everyone posted. Its going to be on a Wednesday within the next month!

Dr. Visit

We went to Dr. D'Alessandro today and she was wonderful. It was a big meeting with two of his therapists and her. They all agreed on what Mikey needs and I dont know technical terms but basically hes goiing to have fully body armor. lol just kidding! Hes going to have wrists braces, back brace thats like a girdle, hip braces and foot braces. I know sounds over whelming. But somethings will only be used during therapay and I believe the hip braces will be used when he sleeps. Maybe it hasnt hit me yet but Im ok with all of this. They said he looks great and they have confidence that with all this help he will be able to function wonderfully. We are going back on June 17th to get him fitted for these things. As far as a walker goes, Lisa said he can come to her office more often and use what they have there and that might be enough to help him.

Mikeys been taking lots of steps when we hold his hands so with the braces he will be able to have more balance. As hard as this is at times everyone really feels so positive towards his out come.

On another note the dr was reading his MRI from April of 2009 and she said to us Oh he had a Severe brain bleed on both sides of his brain. I almost fell off my chair. We were told he had a level 1 low grade bleed. We are very confused and concerned and are going to look into this. The only good thing is that she did agree that the sonagram he had after he left the hospital did show that it was gone. I guess it doesnt matter now whats done is done but I dont understand why we were told it was so low when it was severe. To be continued.....
