Update of Mikey

Well Mikey go his leg braces.. pictures to follow I promise. He doenst wear them that long but we are working our way up to longer. He isnt complaining about them yet. He also has hand things to help keep his thumbs from curling in and a binder for his truck is on its way. Hes doing great :-)

Today we went to the Child therapay center in Fair Lawn to check things out. The staff there is very sweet and seems to really care about the kids. The place is clean and really nice. So we enrolled Mikey for Sept! He starts school Sept 7th :-) wow did I really just say my little boy is starting school??? Im excited for him I think this is a wonderful thing.

Mommys 34th Birthday

Even though Im 34 I still love having a birthday celebration. I wanted something special this year but wasnt sure what... Of course the bank being robbed on my birthday wasnt what I expected. After that scary experience was over the day was pretty good. We went to dinner at Houlihans and had a nice night together.

Today we celebrated with Mom and Dad with a nice BBQ and some swimming. Mikey loves the pool! I can always count on Mom and Dad to make my birthday feel special! Thanks so much for my party :-)

Moving along ....

For some reason I feel the need to write a note today. Things are going well over in the Moscatello house. Mikeys eyes have very little red in them like a slight blood shot look thats barely noticable. We go back to the dr Aug 16th. Hes still getting lots of therapy every day whether its by the therapists, grandma or mommy and daddy.

There are days when I wonder why him? Why us? The truth is it doesnt matter. God gave us this beautiful child and knew we had the love and heart to care for him. No parent wants to see their child struggle or hurt. For today these arent the issues. He gets a little frustrated at times but hes not old enough to really know whats going on. As time goes on hes going to realize hes not like the other kids and cant do what the other kids do and thats going to be hard on all of us. Ive been taught to live my life one day at a time and today this baby is giggling and one of the happiest babies I know :-) He makes me smile at least 10 times a day at the least!! Love cant even begin to describe how I feel for him!!

Mikeys gonna be 17 month in 2 days! Where does the time go <3

He still a little red but his spirits are back :-) I havent seen the turn like I used to see so I am going to say this surgery was a success... we just hope it was successful enough that he doesnt need it again in the future! I guess we shall see. Mikey has to see Dr. Mickey on Tuesday I will let you all know how he does! Thanks for all the love and prayers!

Eye Surgery Over

Mikey had his eye surgery done June 30th 2010 at St. Joes hopital in Paterson NJ. Everything went really well. The surgery was about an hour long and recovery was about 3 hours before we went home. Hes been great. Hes almost back to his normal self.

We have to put drops in his eyes for the next few days 4 times a day. This is the hardest part. Hes impossible to get the drops in. I have been putting them in the corner of his eyes hoping they fall in. Today we are going to try when hes sleeping. Hope that works!!
