As most of you already know what a miracle Mikey is. From conception to birth this child has been a gift from God. When Mikey was born he had a PVL brain bleed. This was something that the doctors watched closely and told us all the time we dont know what damage this might have caused. They basically told us that we would find out was he got older.
Michael will be 15 months old tomorrow.. adjusted 12. He should be doing the things a 12 month old baby would be doing but hes not. We recently found out that he has signs and symptoms of Cerebral Palsy. This is a very scary diagnoses. We have been trying to deal with this emotionally for a few weeks now. We dont know what his future holds but for today he brings joy and happiness into everyone lives that he touches. Hes an amazing kid.
I truly believe God only gives you what you can handle and I feel that God knows we have big enough hearts to care for this special little boy. Michael had many people who love and care for him. He has 3 amazing therpists who work with him 4 days a week and another one starting next week. We are so grateful for these woman. Not only do they do a great job with him but you can tell they care about Mikey and his future. They teach us how to handle him and what we can do to help him have the best quality of life he can possibly have.
All we ask is to keep him and us in your prayers. For him to thrive and be strong enough to get through whatever God brings his way and for us the strength to care for him and give him all the care he needs. Also to bare with us .. we are going to have ups and downs. We just pray to get by one day at a time!! Thanks :-)
